BEACHES & LAKE MOHEGAN
BEACH LIFEGUARD SCHEDULE
All Beaches will be staffed with lifeguards through Sunday, August 22nd. Starting Monday, August 23rd only Jennings Beach, Penfield Beach and Lake Mohegan will be staffed with lifeguards and swimming areas may be reduced. This will continue until Sunday, August 29th. From Monday, August 30th through Friday, September 3rd there will be no lifeguards on duty at any public beaches and swimming will be at your own risk. Lifeguards will again be on duty Labor Day weekend, Saturday, September 4th, Sunday, September 5th and Monday, September 6th at Jennings Beach, Penfield Beach and Lake Mohegan and swimming areas will be reduced. No lifeguards will be on duty after September 6th.

| Fairfield has 5 beaches and beautiful Lake Mohegan to be enjoyed by all. They are open with Lifeguards on duty weekends only beginning May 29th through June 13th. The full time season starts June 19th. (Schedule subject to change) | ![]() |

BEACH STICKERS ARE NEEDED FROM To qualify for Resident Rates, the vehicle must be registered and paying taxes to the Town of Fairfield. Check your vehicle registration for Tax Town (051). Fairfield Residents and/or Taxpayers with vehicles paying taxes to a Town other than Fairfield are considered Non-Residents. DAILY PARKING RATES - Jennings & Penfield Beaches ONLY There are no daily rates at Sasco, Southport and S. Pine Creek Beaches. Beach Stickers are needed to park during the season. |

LAKE MOHEGAN - 960 Morehouse Hwy.
This 118 acre facility is located in the northeast part of town and is the only freshwater swimming area in Town. The property provides a variety of recreation opportunities that include swimming, walking, hiking, dog walking, picnicking, fishing and nature observation. Parking at Lake Mohegan is FREE. The Conservation Commission administers the property (http://www.fairfieldct.org/openspace.htm) but the popular swimming area with a Sprinkler Park, concession stand, bathroom facilities and playground equipment is managed by the Parks and Recreation Commission and a fee is charged at the gate from Memorial Day (Saturday) to Labor Day. |

Getting Started: You will need your Login ID and Password to access your account. If you have an email address in our system, click forgot my Login ID and Password to have it sent to you. If we do not have your email address, please email recsupport@town.fairfield.ct.us or call 256-3191 and we will add it. Purchase your 2010 Beach Stickers by choosing the vehicle and then clicking on RENEW. From there, you may either GO TO CHECK OUT or you can CONTINUE SHOPPING to purchase stickers for other cars. After each purchase, go to MY ACCOUNT. When you have purchased all your items and have checked out, you are all DONE. Your 2010 Beach Sticker will be mailed to your house in 3–5 business days. (*If you were charged a walk-in fee or a lost sticker fee last year, Select “Details” under the cost column. Change to “0” to avoid this fee. Town is not responsible for refunding fee if charged) |
2010 Lake Mohegan Pass renewals may be done by choosing the person who has MC (main contact) next to their name then click on last year’s Lake Pass info and click on RENEW. If you have a child who is 18 years of age, you will need to order theirs in exactly the same way. If any child has turned 12 or 18 this past year, theirs will not be RENEWALS and cannot be done online. From there, you may either CONTINUE SHOPPING for other items or GO TO CHECK OUT. Your Lake Pass will be mailed in 3–5 business days. |

Order a Beach Sticker and Lake Mohegan Pass by Mail or FAX
Renewal applications will be mailed the 2nd week of April to all households that had 2009 Stickers/Passes and have not yet renewed. If you did not have Sticker/Pass in 2009, please print the application and follow the directions. You may also call 256-3191 for a form to be faxed to you. |

If adding NEW vehicles, making changes to any information from 2009, an application must be filled out and a copy vehicle registration and or other proof (see below) must be attached and then be: PLEASE NOTE: The Town of Fairfield is not responsible for lost, stolen or destroyed stickers or passes. There is a $25 charge for replacement stickers for residents. The full purchase price will be charged to replace all other stickers or passes if the original one is not returned.

Bonfire on Jennings Beach
What a wonderful way to spend an evening with family and friends. Bring the wood and some marshmallows and you’re ready to go! Residents may reserve time at Jennings Beach May 1 through September 30 from 5-10:30pm (6-10:30pm during the beach season). In order to allow the most people to take advantage, we limit two weekend nights (Fri-Sun) per person. Reservations may be made starting January 1 for the upcoming season. Those wishing to have bonfires on private beaches

BONFIRE RESERVATION PROCEDURE |

| 1. Once you know that a date is available, visit, call or email the Fairfield Parks & Recreation Dept. to reserve a date. (75 Mill Plain Rd. - 256-3191, recsupport@town.fairfield.ct.us) | ||
| 2. After receiving a Tentative Reservation from the Parks & Recreation Dept. take that to the Health Dept. (John J. Sullivan Independence Hall at 725 Old Post Rd. –1st Fl.) where they will sign the Tentative Reservation and begin a “Permit to Burn”. | ||
| 3. Then take both the Tentative Reservation and the Permit to Burn to the Fire Marshal at the Fire Station on Reef Rd. to receive signatures on both forms. | ||
| 4. Finally return these to the Parks & Rec. Dept. to obtain a signed Confirmed Reservation. | ||
| 5.
Your Permit to Burn will give you specifics about setting the bonfire itself. You are asked to prepare your fire in the area close to the Volleyball nets at the farthest end of the beach near the marina. Be sure to have both your Confirmed Reservation and your Permit to Burn with you the night of the event. Firewood is not provided and all fires must be extinguished prior to leaving the beach. |
