Community Sailing of Fairfield
Community Sailing of Fairfield, operated by its members, under the auspices of the Fairfield Parks and Recreation Department, is based at the Town Dock in beautiful Southport Harbor. This sailing program makes available to its members, two fixed keel, family-size Ideal 18’ daysailers, four two man kayaks and two one man kayaks. Household memberships are available to anyone over the age of 18. The annual fees for a household are: $395 (full week), $250, (weekday only) and a 10% discount for seniors. This entitles any family member over the age of 18, who has passed our skills testing, to reserve unlimited two-hour sailing slots from May through October. Skippers must be in possession of a "Connecticut Safe Boating Certificate" and pass a test to demonstrate basic sailing and water safety skills. A certified sailing instructor is available to provide lessons to achieve the required skills. The program offers weekly racing opportunities hosted by the Pequot Yacht Club and the option for members to race our boats in area regattas. For further information call Community Sailing of Fairfield at 203-254-0676 or fax at 203-255-8521.
