Lifeguard Certification Course

WATERFRONT LIFEGUARD TRAINING

Pre-requisites: Students must be able to swim 550 yds continuously using front crawl or breaststroke, complete a timed swim that includes diving to a depth of 7 feet, tread water for 2 minutes using only legs and be able to swim underwater for a distance of 25 feet.

Students will learn the skills and knowledge needed to prevent and respond to aquatic emergencies. The course teaches skills which an individual needs to become a professional lifeguard. Upon successful completion of the course, the participant will be Red Cross certified in CPR / AED for the Professional Rescuer, First Aid, Lifeguard Training with Waterfront Module. 1 to 10 ratio

Fee: $300 Residents, $400 Non-Residents / 4 classes

*Course tentative dates are weekends after July 4 and before August 12.  Course typically spans the length of four days.  Course will be held 4 consecutive days or two weekend days.  Please prepare for each course day to span at least 6 hours per class.  Course Dates TBD based on enrollment numbers.
